Does anyone know if it will be possible in the future to pre-order books for the Kindle in the same fashion that you can pre-order paper books. It would be great to be able to order a books a month or so ahead of publication date an wake up that morning to have to book at your fingertips.Reply to this post.
does anyone know when this will take effect
‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011RE: ‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011I haven’t heard any announcements from Amazon along those lines. But who knows what the future may hold?Reply to this post.
Rome wasnt built in a day!
RE: ‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011That would be nice and hopefully they will do that in the future, as well as instituting a ’shopping cart’ feature for Kindle books. For the time being, I simply browse the actual physical book store at Amazon and cross reference books that I want (current releases–pre orders are dangerous as they’ll ship it to you when it’s released if you forgot you put it in your cart) with their availability in the Kindle Store. Then I put those kindle books in my Amazon shopping cart. As I purchase the books I want on kindle, I’ll just remove those ‘real’ books from my cart. Again, you have to be careful with pre-orders.It’s a bit of a PITA but it works for me for now.Reply to this post.
this is so true
RE: ‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011I saw one book this morning that is scheduled to be released on Jan 29 with a Kindle Edition link. Unfortunately the Kindle Edition link was dead. But it looks like this is something that is in the works. If you want to see it, the book was Vampires are Forever by Lynsay Sands.Reply to this post.
thanks for visiting today!
RE: ‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011I have noticed this, I think the kindle link does not work until the book is published as there is no pre-order option.Reply to this post.
if people only knew
RE: ‘Pre-Order Books on Amazon for the Kindle’
August 2nd, 2011Don’t know that I would want to preorder because on some new releases I have seen, i.e., "Blasphemy" and "T is For Trespass", the prices start out at over $20 and over the course of the next week or so drops to $9.99.Reply to this post.
how does this impact my state

RE: ‘Kindle answers from the Kindle team at Amazon.com’
August 2nd, 2011If you read as much as I do, it will eventually pay for itself. I think the price is reasonable.Reply to this post.
it should be interested what change will this make
RE: ‘Kindle answers from the Kindle team at Amazon.com’
August 2nd, 2011I agree. I travel a lot and thought I could order books through my Amazon account wherever I could find a computer and free Wi-Fi. That’s not so?Reply to this post.
I like this:)
RE: ‘Kindle answers from the Kindle team at Amazon.com’
August 2nd, 2011Cathy, you need to check the dates of posts you are responding too. Many of these posts were made in 2007/2008 when the first kindle was on the market. Things are very different now.Reply to this post.
